December 2010: Tasty Congee and Noodle Wantun Soup

It was very fitting that that Good Grub Club started on the occasion of Akiko's birthday in January at the Szechuan Restaurant and it closed this year with her in China having noodles with your's truly.

Tasty Congee & Noodle Wantun Shop Tasty Congee & Noodle Wantun Shop creates a traditional dining environment with a unique interior design and refined atmosphere to enjoy Chinese cuisine. It was a wonderful year and so many great experiences and food. There were so many places I had no idea about and enjoyed while making people jealous that they were not part of our club....

November 2010: ZUMA Hong Kong

http://www.zumarestaurant.com/zuma_hk.html

Went with Shinji after work Friday. Waiters were cute.....so they get five stars up front...food was interesting Salmon Tartare which was served in a bamboo box which we then spread on sesame chips and topped with caviar.

We had tempura, steak, and many other things. Atmosphere was nice because I had two martinis at the bar. Could have been in Burger King for all I could care at that point...

Not sure I would go back for dinner but would have a drink again at the bar...

October 2010: Beijing Kitchen, Macau

We had to take a ship across treacherous waters....it was pitch black outside as the boat headed off into the darkness...we hit the port of this strange new land and made our way to the cash machine. I took out $100 Macau Platanos and hoped it got me to the hotel....airplanes flew overhead....we took a shuttle bus passed the casinos, passed the Venician...to the Grand Hyatt Macau...

Ed was late. All he had to do was get up out of his chair, walk out of his room and press the elevator button for the Lobby but he was still late. I almost had mutiny on the bounty and he was eating mixed nuts and Time Outs from the mini bar.

I almost had to swim for shore and take all my clothes off to keep from sinking and he went back to his room to call the housekeeping for not ironing his jeans properly and wanted his $1 platano back!

Anyhow...

We had drinks at the bar. To calm my nerves and for Ed to wash down the Kit Kat he grabbed off the housekeeping cart on the way down.
